Quality Control Technician
Job Summary: The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that all incoming materials, work-in-progress, and outgoing products meet the required quality standards necessary to produce goods that align with the company’s mission. This position also plays a key role in analyzing production operations and processes to identify areas for improvement.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct random sampling of raw materials upon delivery, following established procedures and standards.
- Ensure timely and accurate testing of samples from resin as it arrives.
- Oversee and verify that all relevant testing (CSA, UL, and other regulatory standards) is completed and within the quality specifications outlined by laboratories.
- Perform dimensional and functional testing of materials and products using various precision instruments and tools.
- Set melt index by conducting tests on samples as required.
- Ensure machine setups are accurate and products are manufactured according to customer specifications.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all required tests, reports, and inspections.
- Define and implement acceptable/rejectable limits for production quality.
- Perform process capability studies (Statistical Process Control – SPC) to evaluate production processes.
- Collect and report data related to product quality and process performance in an organized and timely manner.
Secondary Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality audits as necessary to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
- Assist in quality system training programs for new and existing employees.
- Provide support for manufacturing and receiving inspections as part of quality control activities.
- Support ISO 9001 and other audits as needed to maintain certification and quality systems.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Report any safety concerns or workplace accidents to management as they arise.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Preferably an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a field related to manufacturing, quality control, or engineering from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with a focus on quality control, preferred.
- Pay Rate: $16- $18.00 Per Hour
